Video animation project with Burmese migrant children


The UK based video and animation production company Media Projects East and the Best Friend organized a three day educational video animtion project with Burmese migrant children at the Best Friend school KM 42 near Mae Sot.
KM 42 is a primary learning center and currently teaches around 400 children. The children are refugees from Burma, living under very poor circumstances, most of them illegally in Thailand.
The school is funded by Helfen ohne Grenzen and the Spanish NGO Colabora Birmania.
In the three day workshop the children created short cartoons including cardboard and plasticine models, painted backgounds as well as voice over work and video editing, involving the English alphabet and the life of the Buddha.
Media Projects East is a video and animation production company based in Norwich, Norfolk, UK. It specialises in community and educational work, and a production style that favours client led, partnership working.
The Best Friend is a Non-Profit organization that implements educational and social welfare projects along the Thai-Burma border.
