The Best Friend has always been involved in
education. In Burma, its members taught languages and other courses.
Since we started operating from Thailand in 2008, this has continued. We
now provide free education from our library in Mae Sot and we run
schools in the surrounding area.
Computer courses form an important part of our free education.
Especially for Burmese people – who come from a country with no press
freedom, a high censorship of the media and hardly any free access to
the internet and ‘real’ news stories – learning how to work with
computers and gain access to the Internet is important.
